1999 S70 Trunk switch not working

Post by jonk1086 »

The trunk switch is not working. Not the one on the driver's door nor the one just above the license plate. The trunk does open with a key. I believe this is an actuator problem. Any advice as to how to remove the actuator? It looks like the cover above the license plate that covers the latch needs to come off, but I don't know how, and I don't want to break anything!

It has been a while since I messed with a trunk latch but I seem to recall that you simply remove the nuts and that the studs are captive. I don't recall anything weird about it but then again that may be specific to an 850.
