2001 V70 XC Blower motor stopped working

Post by dublt9 »

I was having trouble with my blower motor staying on all the time, even after turning the car off and taking the key out. It wasn't just staying on for a short time, it was on until the battery would die. So after reading, it sounded like it was the resistor, so I replaced the resistor, and now the motor doesn't work at all. it's starting to sound like maybe the CCM needs to be replaced, but since I don't really know a whole lot about vehicles (just starting to spend time working on my own) I thought i'd pick someones brain who does. I've looked around quite a bit for this issue, but haven't been able to find anything so far.

Update: Never mind. Everything started working. My check engine light turned off. My fans work. life is good. Now if only I could figure out how to delete this thread.

Normally the blower will turn for a while when the engine turns off, to dry the A/C cooler so it doesn't moist. Don't remember for how long, but surely not for an hour or more.

When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, always have the ignition key in position II or sometimes the electronics in this car can mess up. Also always disconnect the battery when unplugging any electrical part or it may require a $150 trip to the main dealer to erase some error messages.

If the electronics is acting weird, try disconnecting the + pole at the battery for 12h. This will reset a couple of things in the car.
