Should I keep it or sell it to someone who will appreciate her more than I will?

I believe the T5-R and 850R's all have a 58 in the VIN. The standard T5 or Turbo will be a 57. Low pressure turbo will have something else.

The ECU should be a 628 if it is a R.

Either way, now that you have it, it's all about how good it runs and how much work it needs.
All of mine are now an "R", with either the actual VIN#, or the 628 ECU, the Titan rims.

I doubt that was an R. Only my Black one is an actual "95 T-5R.
Previous owner was a fan. Original T-5R badge though.

I was thinking R for my son who already likes the Turbo wagons and has owned a T5 850 and V8 BMW station wagon 530, and the 98 BMW 328IS for my daughter and the silver 2000 C70 Turbo for me and my midlife crisis. I have always stayed away from buying either of my kids a convertible. In Texas most vehicles are giant and I worry about what would happen if they got injured. If I get tuna-canned by an 18 wheeler society is not at a humongous loss. BTW my winning bid was $325 and mileage is not original but it drives great, no issues so far, mostly cosmetic.

628 ECU # confirmed, not that I had my own doubts but to settle the question.

I finally ordered parts for my R that has been sitting for 3 years. I had the same mindset of 'why sell it?'.

osman, woohoo! jackpot! right there in San Marcos. I like it with the standard front bumper cover and no spoiler--the sleeper ricer racer. Proves you never know what you will find in Tejas.

My daughter says she wants it, I replaced cap and rotor and wires, doing a PCV, oil change some control arms, threw in a can of freon and she said she is happy. Tires are good, everything else works. Probably do a tranny flush and throw some fresh synthetic oil in there and its back on the road. Picked it up at a National Public Radio charity auction for $300, BTW.
