2003 V70 Fuel gauge dead after fuel pump replaced

Post by CanadianRob »

Hi all
I have a base 2003 V70 with engine B5244S R5 2.4L

I had the fuel pump replaced with an after market part.
After a while - a couple of weeks - my fuel gauge went dead - as did the reading for range # of km left. The dash was replaced earlier, so I don't think the problem is there.

The codes found are :
EMC-4050 (P0461) faulty signal
EMC-2110 front heated ox sensor preheating low signal
EMC-2210 rear heated ox sensor preheating low signal
10 Central Elec Mod (CEM)

amongst others.

Could this issue be rooted in the process of replacing the fuel pump, or is that just coincidence?

At the same time the fuel level gauge went dead, so did my rear wiper, rear door locks, rear central stop break light, all with codes to match:

9416, 8F25, 8F2C, 8F2E,

Sounds like a bigger issue, but any insight would be appreciated!

Rear body module performs the functions that have failed. It's located in a panel on the left side of the cargo area.
It has a circuit board module inside with a slide out cartridge. To remove this all the fuses and relays on the front need to be removed so the cartridge can be released.

It can be sent away to XeModex in Canada or another module repairer in your area.

You really require to scan vehicle with Vida Dice so you can see if the Network versions can be seen. Many times the rear modules totally die as did my 2001 XC70's.

I think I might just try to get a used one from our Volvo graveyard: It's Hamilton Motors, just south of Guelph, Ontario Canada. They've been there for around 60 years and ONLY deal with Volvos.
