Hello there,

I have a dial indicator with no arm but will get a mounting arm for it soon so i can check the brake rotor run out.

Question is, what is the best way to mount the dial indicator for making this measurement?
Also, is there any recommended 'arm' + 'base' for a dial indicator for making this measurement?

This is the one I have and use when I measure runout just find a chunky piece of metal typically the caliper bracket and adjust the goose neck, https://www.amazon.com/Fowler-72-641-300 ... cator+base , Make sure you have the centering bolt or the lug bolts holding the rotor tightly before you measure them.

Hi,

Yeah i was wondering about that, because if the wheel is off then the rotor may be loose. I have a feeling the old one will be tight anyway, but the new one once put on will not be tight yet.
