Hi Matthew

Upsolute most certainly do a chip for the 850 T/T5 and the S/V70 T5

The power figures you have are correct - 277bhp and 300lb/ft and slightly different figures for the S70/V70 (275bhp and 305lb/ft I believe)

A couple of friends have them on their cars, we're based in Eurpoe though - but the car and the chip is the same.

Mathew,

Upsolute lists the following chips:

http://www.upsolute.com/db/ger/eng_list ... Name=volvo

They also work through distributors in the U.S. so you don't have to ship your ECU:

I just spoke with Rocketeer Performance in San Jose http://www.rocketeerperformance.com and they offered me a loaner chip to test drive for the cost of the installation.

Any feedback on this chip?

Their website indeed claims that they have chips for 850's.

I'm using a MBC so with the stock ECU, I wasn't able to boost too much before reaching fuel/Ign cutoff and I'd get an CEL with an overboost code.

So......being an older car and one out of the 3 that I own, I really didn't want to spend $800 from IPD and discovered the InMotion chips via Ebay (discussed at another Volvo forum).

At Ebay, it's $199 "Buy now" OR submit BO. I submitted a BO at $170 and got an Email so they accepted that.

I sent them my ECU (~$15 to ship one way, overnight priority USPS, free return shipping), got it back within a week and now......I can boost to 16 PSI (maybe more), no fuel/ign cutoff and so far, no CEL.

I'm happy with that. :D

I have been running a SpeedTuning USA chip in my 97 850 GLT (low pressure turbo) for 6 months, with great results. I consistently boost 12-13 psi, the chip cost $325 (including next day shipping) and the car runs well.

The performance numbers on their site matches what my dyno sheet showed for the car.

I've been told to talk with Oliver there when I'm ready. I'm planning on a ST chip as well. I'm putting a FMIC on and dynoing the car and sending oliver the dyno sheets and AF readings to get the chip as near ideal for my car as he can.

With any luck, I'll be rocking it by the end of the summer.

That list/writeup (see my first post in this thread) is now very dated, so if anyone has up-to-date experiences and opinions on chips, please email them to me (and I'll post them) or post them here.

Thx
Matt

you're missing speedtuning, they are quite popular, cheaper than most as well.
