2002 S60 Need Advice: Keep or Sell?

Water filling the drivers side might be a clogged sunroof drain - it also likes to leak on the CEM located under the dash. I think there is a video on Youtube about it, worth a look

Cheers oragex...yea I though the same. Started with the sunroof as that was nice and easy....then moved to the screen and removed the rubber mouldings...still no joy. In the end I put a hose on the roof and that revealed a 1 inch tear in the top corner of the door rubber....I was just so surprised that the way it is designed there is very little redundancy so just a small tear and the car parked on a hill was enough to cause the problem. Removing the carpet to dry it out....now that really was a lot of fun! On the up side now I have a dry carpet it seems a lot of my electrical gremlins have gone too....so all was happy in my volvo world...well for about 2 weeks then the power steering started pulsating!!

Sounds discouraging indeed, it looks like it has problem after problem and not small ones. Maybe try selling it and get the same in better shape?

Put a filter on your tranny line and it will save you much grief. I always look at all cars, especially used ones, as needing repairs. But repairing what you own and know is better than replacing the car and having to do the repairs again - with every used car you are starting all over. New cars are the same until they hit the magic mile mark, then you are in the same place. As far as the ETM, switch it to contactless and be done with it. Mine was replaced under warranty (120K miles) and started to fail again at 180K miles. It cost me a few hours and $135 for the contactless kit, much better than a new car.

Well, I decided to keep it for now. Below is a photo I took of the car:

Notice this the rare special edition with the passenger's side mirror a different shade of green from the rest of the car!
So my plan is to mainly keep it stored in the driveway except for occasional use on weekends. I plan to get a car cover to keep it clean from pollen, tree sap, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations where I could get a cover for this car?

Good coat of your favourite wax and enjoy it. It's a 13 year old car, not a Picasso.

May I add a $1 black shoes wax on the plastic trims will work miracles

How long it will last? I tried MEDS ReNu Pro on faded 2002 V70 trims two months ago - it's still there, still looks good.

It is hard to say exactly because it will be somehow subjective to say when it's no longer really black, but with one layer, I think it was good for 3-4 months or more.. The wax I used is the cheapest thing one can find (think Dollar store), a better product could last longer. I used a separate sponge to spread the wax, a lot easier compared to the video.

In this video, the discolored part was treated last year with Back to Black which didn't help.
