2004 Volvo V70 Rear Stabilizer Link

Post by mnmk »

Hello,
I am trying to diagnose a clunk in my right rear wheel. I was told that I have a stabilizer link on both sides of the rear suspension. For some reason I cannot locate these links.
Any help would be great.
Thanks so much.

Is yours a non-turbo? Some did not come with a rear sway bar.

No rear stabilizer bar = no stabilizer links

To check for the link just slide a hand under the car from the rear - without jacking it - and shake the end links to feel for play. But I have play on my left side and it makes no noise.

I had such annoying clunk at the same rear right place. It was the hand brake cable that wasn't properly secured. The fuel pipe that goes to the tank also can hit the wheel arch and make noise. Finally, the brake shoes are known to delaminate and may became loose inside the drum but it's less likely to be the culprit.
