Re: Replacing CVVT Solenoid for Code P1332
hi I am getting ready to change my cvvt solenoid i ordered a used one on ebay of the exact match i did pull the part number before ordering to make sure and did look at the connector end .i have a 2002 volvo s80 will i need to have this programmed or can i simply just switch it out .since i will not have to cut any wires and also can i leave the battery hooked up again since i will only be unplugging this . i am asking this because the closest volvo dealership is over 2 hours from my location
and no one in my area will touch a volvo ???? i need to know asap since my 89 gmc currently, i have had to remove my trany on that and wont have the replacement in for a bit

Disconnecting the battery is always the safest for you and the vehicle. But... I've changed these with the battery connected and never had an issue.

Does anyone know what the bolts on the solenoid should be torqued to?

Probably not the problem nick. Try replacing the CVVT, clearing codes, and see what comes back

There was a good DIY on this and IM pretty sure the OP could not get the connector from Volvo - in fact he documented how to make sure you splice the right connectors into he OEM connector really well.
