your probably right BEJinFbk, i have rebuilt it a second time and will try it later. Been told to check circuit breaker (fuse no.37), that would explain why passenger window now does not work. As for getting a new one the 2 door ones new are over £150! so i will persevere lol

The easiest way to check the breaker is to
check the sunroof. If it works, the breaker is OK.

You can also probe for voltage at the switch, both at
rest and while you're operating it. If there's voltage
present and it remains there, your breaker is OK.

The switch does more than apply power. Keep in
mind that it's job is to both carry ground and power
and since reversing polarity to the motor is what
makes the window go up or down, there's some
tricky stuff going on with those contacts.

The operation is multiplied for the passenger side
because all the same things are going on in the local
switch in the passenger door, too.

fitted a new switch console, doesn't work, so I sold the C70 and bought a lovely S40 T4, year 2000 full Volvo service history and only 87k. Although this is only 200 horses it's much more fun to drive and quicker than the C70. In the 3 weeks i have had it I have had a short servoce, new Black Diamond brake pipes, undersealed (I live by the sea!), new rubber, genuine front strut brace and a BTCC wrap kit. I will post pics once done :)
