2008 XC90 Coolant fan not coming on

Can someone tell me where the temp sensor is on this model? its a 3.2, Im not sure if its on the block or the thermostat housing...thanks

Hi there, before you start changing any sensors try to diagnose the problem first, check if there is power going to the fan first, there should be 3 wires red should show 12 volts at all time, black is ground, and the 3rd small one should only have few volts to start the module to turn on the fan, and its only there when the car is hot or AC is running to cool it down so first do your test on a cold vehicle then take it for a ride come back and test it again with AC turned on if you have power then its your fan that is bad.
