The picture would help immensely. In fact you're in the wrong forum because this forum was devised specifically for the Magnetti Marelli units.

I think it's a Bosch unit for the 2002 S80 turbo. These were also shared with later S40s. The units themselves are extremely reliable and not prone to the board errors of the Magnetti units because the logic (thinking) part is done by the car's engine computer well away from the extreme heat of the engine leaving only a flap motor and angle sensors on the unit.

One problem they encounter is connection with the car's connector pins on the loom. Another issue at the age of this car is the onset of corrosion on the car's engine computer connector.

Both of these situations give false throttle codes and rhe workshops are being misled. They replace the throttle most of the time knowing that these Bosch units rarely fail and especially repeatedly. They want to replace a part and send people away with the false contentment of a new part. The only way to test their knowledge is to re-arrive at the same shop and get them to ask questions of themselves and delve deeper to find the issue.

The throttle itself is not the problem.

Ok, I will send picture .
Recall Volvo describing unit as round. Said should be square. Said from later model, maybe s40.
Said it was not a throttle body but throttle something. Don't recall exact term.
Xemodex told me that they no longer offered the turbo 2002 model because someone else getting them from China too cheap. Said company might be World Pack? Said I could find but I haven't yet.
Thanks.

The throttle actuator that was fitted started with 2002 models has issues with the wiring terminals. The females in the plug get wear and lose tension so the potentiometer signals back to ECM are not correct.

What codes do you have?

The throttle actuators are not the problem. I have a 2004 with that same part and at 225K miles it is fine.

The Volvo dealer in Myrtle Beach, SC refused any help. Said I should take it to Volvo for any rebate.
