Selling my '98 V70 with 265,000 mi. Black w/black-leather interior.
I hate to do.
I love this car, and would love to keep "restoring" it.
However, I am going to be out of town for a couple of months and have no place to store it, and no one to look after it.
I would like to find her a good home.
Still running strong! 2 weeks ago I drove to CT (6 hours round trip with much sitting in NYC traffic) No problems. Currently on road. I will drive it until you buy it.
I have had the car for 4-5 years. In that time it has only failed to start 3 times. 2x's because I left interior lights on. 1x because of fuel relay (replaced). Very Reliable car.
Since I have had it i have changed the oil & filter religiously.
I have put about 20k miles on the car. Countless hours working on it, and $$$'s that I knew I wouldn't get back, but now you don't have to.
I'll list the "good/bad" highlights.
There is too much to list. Feel free to ask any questions you like.
The Good:
Brake job (less then year) New all around; calipers,rotors,pads, rubber hoses. Bled by pro mech.
New Radiator
New Heater core
Tires: front have many k more miles. Rear are ...okay
New struts/rear shocks (see notes below) (3 years old)
Timing belt/serpentine belt/water pump; 20k miles on them
PCV replaced 3-4 years ago
Body is in Fair/decent shape. No rust. some dings & dangs but no major dents.
Paint is pretty good except for bumpers
Interior; front seats show wear, but not ripped. rear seats in good shape. carpet not torn, but worn.
Electrics all work except front cig lighter, tape player. cd/radio work fine.
Windows all good and function.
The bad
A/C does not work
Turbo does not work.
rough ride. front struts; they are 3-4 years old, HOWEVER I believe the strut mounts are busted.It is a rough ride for the front end.
@ 70 mph there is some wobble in the front end. Not major.
oil leakage. some slow oil on pan underneath.
slight coolant leak; I believe there may be a coupling slightly loose. Haven't had time to check.
A "droopy" bumper. Right front bumper got melted a little when someone started some trash on fire. NOTHING else was damaged.
Driver door; this isn't necessarily bad, but I just replaced it with one from salvage yard. someone backed in to the original.....molding does not match.
Will try to get better pics up soon.
