2000 S70 - Accidentally put in full synthetic oil

Over the weekend, I accidentally added in full synthetic oil to my 2000 S70 with 167,000 miles. I changed oil at my fathers garage, and I wasn't paying attention and grabbed synthetic from the shelf by accident. I did a search for some answers, but was getting mixed opinions. Will this cause any damage to my vehicle if I leave this in? If so, should I go back, drain, and refill with standard? The reason I am a little worried is because I am about to go on a 1500 mile trip this weekend. Thanks in advance for your valued feedback.

Leave it in, and drive it.

I have a 180K engine and I use full synthetic.

Were you topping up or replacing oil complete? Not quite clear.
I run semi synthetic in my V40 all the time so if it is a top up situation that is effectively what you have achieved by your unintended error.
Many run their Volvo's on full synthetic all the time so you may actually be doing the engine a favour.
The higher mileage and the synthetic oil question does concern some owners due to potential deterioration of old oil seals but it should be okay so long as the grade is correct for the engine and climate.

I only use fully synthetic oil in my s70 and 850

My 2000 V70 has been on full synthetic and semi-synthetic for 75,000 kms and there are no leaks. Engine oil is clean and oil use is low.

Bought her at 255K kilometres and didn't even know what was previously used; just knew she deserved the best.

Full synthetic here as well - mine's at 144k and seems to enjoy it, though I think it may have been running semi up until my first oil change.

For me it is full synthetic in the turbo cars, full dino in the non-turbos.

Great information here. To answer an earlier poster's question, I did do a full oil change, so all of the oil in there is full synthetic. I feel much more at ease now based on what I am hearing. I just wanted to be sure. The last thing I wanted is my precious S70 to start having engine issues after being relatively problem-free, especially on my long trip. Thanks to all who commented! Everyone on this forum are always so friendly and helpful.

The risks of synthetic into a high miler never having used that type oil was valid (maybe) in another time in the past. A time when conventional motors oils and synthetics and engine seals were far different than now. There is still a risk if the high miler has a bucket of sludge in it as the detergent action of synthetics is a smidgen higher.
