The "J" port going into the engine is also a problem place and therefore removal of box is needed.
How do your rear cam seals look? "leaking or dry".
I was told that the car I have now has never had the PCV system done. I have 171,000 on the engine. It passed the glove test and not leaking from anywhere. You could be lucky and the leak was the cap.

I guess what I posted above, about that potential blockage, would be a place to start, just to rule that out as really doing little tasks gives you more confidence to explore further but I will check for areas of potential leaks such as rear cam seals.
