xc70 manual traany swap

got a question, thinking about getting a xc70, and I know that here in Canada Volvo sold manual xc70 until 2005, but unfortunately they are hard to find, how hard would it be to swap an automatic xc to manual, should it be easier to buy an manual awd v70 instead? and maybe lift her like an xc??

V70 with the whole new suspension is high enough.

I'm not sure how this happens but when I have shopped for cars online the ones with manually shiftable autos show up as manuals in many listings. There were never any manual trans XC70's in USA. I'm doubting that Canada had them in 2001 and later. I thought the 97 850 AWD was the sole manual trans AWD for Canada other than the 2004-2007 R models.
