2004 s60 R Right Front Axle

Post by b_jackson99 »

Where can I find a Right Front axle for a 2004 s60 R, AWD, 6 speed Manual? I've been to multiple stores and websites and cannot find the correct axle. Everything is for an automatic trans and ends up being about 1/2" short on the transfer case (angle gear) side. Has anyone every tried a CV rebuild kit?

Don't know how different these axles are but I got a "new" from a local auto place for $130 and it vibrated right out of the box. I rebuilt the original and put it back on, immediately vibrations gone, definitely do not send in your old axle.

Personally I'd go for CV boot kit again... It's a messy job and be patient getting everything apart and together but with the angles right it easy, amazing mechanics in there. My recommendation would be to rebuild: cheaper and better, at least it was for me.

The are videos on Youtube how to put the thing back together again. The refurbished ones are indeed a hit/miss
