These are M7 1.0mm pitch 28mm thread, 32mm overall.

They are not easy to find in any length. Advance did have an M7 bolt that is only 25mm long which will pick up only three threads so I don't want to use that long term.

Greetings! I will be installing the camshaft cover today and have come across two different sets of numbers for torquing the camshaft bolts - 5.1 foot pounds and 13 ft lbs. Which is correct or is there yet a different number? (Most references are in inch pounds, but with the conversion - 12 inch pounds to 1 foot pound - the result was one or the other number above.)

I also need to reconnect the rear (motor) water/coolant hose with a gasket. I have two bolts that will fit (again I misplaced the correct ones!) but wondered about the length.

All data says for my 1999 torque from inside out at 17 Nm...thats closer to the 13 foot pounds but maybe the 1999 is different? ( I don't think the mechanicals are)

Let's get an answer from a real guru.

I recall 7nm or 5.16 ft/lbs for the cover bolts. Less is more. The correct anaerobic sealant does a lot of the work here too. 42 of them have a huge combined force.

5rivers...I think the important thing is to remember to work from the inside out so that the cover is flattened as you tighten

13 ft lbs is light torque..indeed the sealer is doing the work here.

Got something more definitive from the Volvo 960 pocket book (a factory resource for basically the same whiteblock engine)

It is indeed 17nM or 13 ft/lbs
