2003 xc70 Reduced Engine Performance

Got a '03 xc70 a few months ago..she drives fine except for a slight idle hunting when ac is on..can't see it on the tach but I feel it on the steering wheel vibration. Cleaned maf with maf cleaner and it solved the idle hunting..one day took it to palm springs... everything was fine except on my way back to LA..got the reduced engine performance message and engine stumbles... went to the shoulder and restarted the car... everything is fine again...pulled codes and I got from ecm 130A and 981A...
Could this be caused by faulty maf?
Got it with a busted DIM but had it repaired already and is now working fine..

Since it seems related with the A/C, I would make sure in the first place the A/C pulley runs smoothly. These pulleys tend to seize at higher miles. Same goes for the alternator pulley. A quick check can be performed by just releasing the 14mm tensioner bolt, without removing the serpentine belt.

How many miles on it? Timing belt already replaced?

I had the same loss of power on highway once, and it never returned..

Hi oragex...going 119k miles now... timing belt changed by previous owner..I'll look into the ac compressor pulley...I can feel the strain on engine when ac compressor kicks in... thanks.

I just hope the reduced engine performance message won't go back... it's scary if you're on the freeway...
