2007 xc90 novimat replacement

Post by britishrocco »

Hi all, our 2007 xc90 v8 sag from the rear as we pass over potholes, the garage told us he needs rear shock, our xc90 is equipped with novimat shock, so he quote us at 823$/ea, I found that volvo sell a kit to convert non novimat to novimat xc90, which consist of two shock and two coil for 1100$, and I found a kit to remove the novimat for 469$, my question is should I remove the novimat system or leave it on? we do not tow anything with it, but we are 6 so the 3rd row seat is always in use?

anyones ever remove those? how the ride compare to novimat??

regards

Those are available for 379 USD ea and maybe even less if you look online.
I have no idea where you are other than Canada but the rear shocks are easy to change on that vehicle so you might find a shop in the US that would do it and use them as shipping location.

Or find a hotel and book a stay and ship the shocks to them.

yeah found some at that price online, but with exchange rate and shipping it cost 50$ less that the oem kit. I just want to make sure the ride quality still the same without novimat.
