Hello,
My headlights went out the other night at the same time my high beams will not stay on unless I hold the stick forward. The bulbs are fine. I checked the fuse box and curiously there was no headlight relay at all nor was there any metal conductors for it to plug into like the other relay positions so when I bought the relay for that position it obviously did nothing because it was like plugging in the relay to a piece of bread. The parking lights and all other lights work on the car when I turn the light switch on. I have tried a few of the things I have read on here when people had similar issues but I have not seen my exact issue.
I bought the car recently and have been learning a lot about cars since. I have not looked inside the fuse box until this problem occurred so is it possible the headlights were working without the headlight relay this whole time and if so how do I fix it? There was one time my hood was curiously open so I don't know if someone could have taken my headlight relay and messed with my fuse box....

Looks like s90's have two or three relay/fuse boxes, one under the hood and the others in the center and driverside door portion of the dash. The headlight relay appears to be seperate, located near the light switch in the dash.

User ambran1 recently fixed a problem similar to yours by replacing the light switch, and other 850 owners have also had success with this fix.
