1996 850 Cooling Fan Relay and Wire Harness

Post by wackenhut »

Hi,

How much time in labor should a dealer take in replacing the cooling fan relay and wire harness?

Do you just plug in the new part (15 minutes).

Thanks!

The relay itself is plug and play but the harness is a different matter. The power to the relay runs through the loom from under the engine at the starter back over across the top of the fan shroud. For me (a fairly seasoned shade tree mechanic) to change it I'm guessing a couple of hours or so.

Relay? 1 minute in my car.

Harness, which part of the harness...? Without knowing which part, it's impossible to tell.
