Post by viscous »

Hi my passengers rear door was sticking and know has stopped working but will still open from the inside
When it was playing up if you locked it with the door open it would not release properly when you tried to open it from the outside can anyone tell me what the best plan of attack.

Chances are the problem is with the handle itself but it could be the latch. You will need to remove the interior door panel and then you can see what happens when you actuate then handle. I think Robert has a video in the repair database that details removing the panel. Most of the time the clips that secure the door panel will break in the process and I buy a new set of clips before I even start removing a door panel. The Volvo clips are not the generic size that you can source from an auto parts store but they are fairly inexpensive (in Volvo terms) from a dealer. The rear door parts are plentiful at pick-n-pull lots or salvage yards.
