Hello,

Recently the dam thing triggered an Evap Code for 'small leak detected'. Could this be because of a small leak in the big air filter box?

THanks.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

"big air filter box" you mean your air filter for the throttle/intake? If so, no. Evap is usually the vent system for the fuel tank if I remember correctly. HOWEVER: I have gotten this small leak code on 2 occasions: ran car too low on gas and must have let air into the system, and another time my gas cap was not tight enough. Also, another time, one of the vent hoses for the tank (by the fuel filter) severed into 2, but I had a smell of gas in that area and knew something was off. ....Fill it up, tighten gas cap, clear it, see if it comes back on.

If it really is a gas tank evap leak, there are a few resources on here about how to remedy it without removing tank.
