How much play in transmission output shaft?

I had the governor on my 90 240 self-destruct when two screws backed out, and I had to replace it from a junkyard 240. It only took me about 15 minutes to pull off the tailshaft housing. Wobble extensions and an electric impact wrench were helpful, as was not really caring that much about supporting the donor transmission properly. I'd just go yank one and see.
