2002 s60 5t hard to start

The car is hard to start. I was told its the fuel pressure regulator. How hard is it to change out? Please help.

I changed the fuel pressure regulator out and it did not fix the problem.. please help

Read the codes through VIDA/DiCE, it will tell you if some critical sensor is dead, like CPS, MAF, MAP, coolant temperature sensor.

How old is the battery? What about spark plugs and coils?

If the car had a bad oil change history, engine may have stuck piston rings. Do compression test or add a spoon of oil into all cylinders, that would temporarily increase compression.

My 2005 XC70 (bought 2.5 years ago) was starting worse than wife's 2002 V70, which catches up in a fraction of second. I did not do a compression test, though I bought a kit (lazy me), but did overnight piston rings treatment: poured two cans of Seafoam into cylinders and moved crankshaft +/- 15 degrees from time to time. Then replaced oil the next morning. Car now starts much better, also oil consumption dropped from 160ml/1kkm (9.2oz/1kmi) to 110ml/1kkm (6.3oz/1kmi).
