2000 V70, Another P0740 code

On trips over 30 mins, my wagon will usually fire off a P0740 code, and drop to a lower gear while driving. If I come to a stop, it is very sluggish taking off (to high a gear), or I can manually drop it into L to get rolling. I can clear the code while driving (Torque + OBDII) and it'll shift normally for a few minutes then it will happen again. Any advice?

Do a search for that code in the forum. A quick review shows it could something like a faulty ground to the TCM or something far worse.

It does not sound like something that will fix itself, so you may want to start looking for something small while preparing for a swap.
