1997 940 - New Turn Signal Switch with Cruise Control

Post by Metallo »

Hi all,

I need to buy a new turn signal switch (Volvo P/N 9130290), this part is discontinued and I am not sure who produced these parts for Volvo, however the main aftermarket producers I found are:

Airtex and Standard

Rockauto offers:

AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S10035 for $86.79
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # CBS1545 for $172.79

Since I am not familiar with none of the two just said manufacturers and given that one is double priced vs the other, either one is overpriced or the other is junk.

I looked at the used market but most of what I found had faded markings.

I'd like your advice.

Thank you!
Alex

Standard Motor Parts is Intermotor brand CBS-1545, Rock Auto's picture of this part shows a Volvo part number and Made In Germany. Airtex/Wells 1S10035 has Germany listed as the country of origin, Rock Auto's picture of this part shows the same part with Volvo part number and Germany ground off.

Hi,

thanks for the info... should I draw a conclusion on this or am I missing something?

It appears that both the Airtex/wells switch and the SMP/Intermotor switch are reboxed parts from the same OE supplier.

Thank you, I'll go for the Airtex (obviously) I noticed too the 'Germany' ground off and to be honest, I am not sure whether is Germany of Volvo ground off.

Let's hope for the best quality wise.
