2007 Volvo XC90 a/c problem
I have a 2007 Volvo XC90 140k miles. The ac has started acting up. Seems to cool only when at hwy speeds and stops blowing cool air when at stop lights or stop and go traffic. Fan is working at radiator, not overheating. Also, compressor looks and sounds like it's working. Recently bought a manifold gauge. The outside temp was 85, low side 45 psi, high side 125 psi. Was thinking it might be expansion valve? Or orifice tube? The odd thing was when I turned off the car I looked at the gauge before disconnecting and the readings were, low side 86 psi, high side 100 psi. With your expertise, hopefully you can shead some light. Thanks you! Jason from Atlanta GA

Hi Jason
My 2005 XC90, did exactly the same thing. I took it to an aircon guy who recharged the refridgerant. I think it was 134b.(Check your manual for the correct type for your climate and laws) He put a die in it that is visable under UV light so that he could find the leak. I was supposed to take it back a few months later to find the leak , but it worked fine for nearly a year , so I never got around to it.
Cheers
