Re: 2002 C70 Transmission bumping, harsh shifting
Sorry missed that the oil cooler was replaced. There's something about the coolant line to the turbo giving the same result due to a turbo housing corroding. The more experienced here may want to chime in.

Ah Ha! interesting, but would that cause white smoke/ smell of burning antifreeze? I guess so since it is part of the exhaust but would this line go back into the crankcase? As in building backpressure pushing the water into the crankcase instead of feeding the water/coolant down the line out the tail pipe as vapor? Enlighten me please! I am just curious if there is a breach between a waterjacket and an oiling passage in the head somewhere as the compression test showed 150 psi at each cylinder (well, the middle one needed to crank a tad bit longer but it did get up to 150) so I don't know how antifreeze could get into a combustion chamber to burn with the fuel if the compression is good....... and for the waterjacket to oil passage breach, that could be as there's water in the crankcase... no doubt but the thing with the combustion chambers being at 150 and still having antifreeze burning (smell, white smoke) is VERY confusing........... someone please respond. I would like to know how you can check for the turbo line corrosion problem and is this line easy to change out?

It is totally possible to have a head gasket breach between coolant and oil passages yet have full compression.
Turbo has oil feeding into it as well. If the breach is between the coolant and oil passages in the turbo; voila!!
It's not a line connection problem; it would be a failed turbo housing. Only fix is to remove it from engine and run car without turbo and plug the oil and coolant lines or replace the turbo.

One last question, if the turbo is bad and pulling water into the mix would that blow white smoke out the tail pipe and smell "sweet" from the antifreeze burning, as I believe my engine is burning antifreeze in the combustion chambers. I did the headgasket test today and it failed, combustion gases in the coolant for sure....... so should I go the route of the headgasket? Or wait, the turbo has to come out of the way to pull the head anyway, is there any tell tale sign when I disconnect it that it is leaking/faulty? As if I disconnect something and water or oil comes out of it?
Let me know as i'm starting the head removal job tomorrow, starting with getting all the peripherals out of the way

I think the combustion gases test has pretty much confirmed that there is a breach in the head gasket. At this stage it would be safe to rule the turbo out of the equation. Not the easiest job on the planet but will pay off over time, especially if you keep the car.
