2006 xc70 item identfication

Hello,

My first post here. I have a 2006 xc70 and something started buzzing (like an electric pump) non stop in the engine compartment. The sound comes from somewhere below the air intake box and it never goes away.

In front of the air intake box is some kind of black plastic T item with a connector on top. It has 3 hoses connected to it and when i disconnect the electric connector, the sound stops.

its your vacuum pump that is making the buzzing sound which is located underneath that sensor you have unplugged, most likely that is your issue, sensor ( t item with connector) is faulty and telling the pump to keep adding air.
