PrimeChoice Rotors Review: good looks for cheap

Post by mika »

I was able to buy slotted and drilled rotors, painted, for...drumroll......$10 each on the primechoice website, and that is with shipping. I have had success with their "generic" products in the past. It is important to note that you get what you pay for, true, and what you use your cars for. If you want nice looking rotors on a car that is not a primary vehicle, I think these are a decent rotor. They also sell them on ebay. I am writing this because I could not find any info on our forum. I was concerned with the quality, especially for the price, but thought "what the hay" lets try them out. I do not want this to turn into a "well for brake components I only use OEM" b/c its a safety thing. I understand and agree, but wanted to offer my first impressions.

Quality looks just as good as top brands I have used in past (Balo, Tektar, and OEM Blue box rotors). Paint scratches off easy. Nice, thick metal and great finish. Stop and don't make any noise. I have not put too many miles on them, but have no reason so far to believe that they will create any problems. If I get 10k out of them, so be it. My plan is to use these for summer, and switch to solid rotors for winter.

Image This is what they look like, will update my own picture in future. I am using semi metallic pads currently, but have a pair of ceramic centric pads on the way. Stay tuned for updates in future as I use them more.

Out of all the generic brands, this is the only one that I found documented proof of longevity with use (other forums). They sell blank rotors too, something like 8$ each. Talk about budget oriented.

Was there any info on these rotors on other forums? Why would you switch to solid rotors in the winter?
The price is certainly an attension getter.

Incredible price. I can almost make money buying 100 of them and scrapping them!

1) ontop of amazon reviews, this one comes to mind (comment at bottom) http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t ... ldestFirst

2)prices literally went up over night. They are now back to 35 dollars each on both flea bay and website. Bah!

3) Abscate, where do you scrap parts? At a recycling center?
