1995 854T Need to clean inside of intake manifold

Post by alschnertz »

I'm looking for suggestions on how to clean the inside of the intake manifold.
I have removed it in order to renew the PCV system and find the inside of the intake very oily.
I was going to spray it with engine cleaner and then hose it out with water.
I haven't removed the EGR valve from the manifold and was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to.

Would it be a problem to hose out the manifold and keep the EGR in place?
Maybe I should just use carb. cleaner and a rag? But that may leave lint.

Any other suggestions?
