I'm a fool. Yesterday I went to jump my dead battery in my 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. I have an extra deep cycle lead-acid, so I was going to use that. I managed to misread the terminals on my deep cycle battery, and I plugged the batteries into each other in series. Worse yet, I didn't realize the problem until I went to start the car and got no start, and I smelled hot wires and a little smoke.
Unplugged everything and plugged in properly. Car started fine. Radio didn't work, but that was just a blown fuse. I now have everything back to normal EXCEPT for all of the power windows and the sunroof. All refuse to budge no matter what. Neither the center console switches nor the door switches in the rear work.
I've tried:
- Locking/unlocking three times with the KEY
- Disconnecting/reconnecting the battery with the key in the II position
- Leaving the battery disconnected overnight and charging it to full
Thanks!
Brennan
