1998 V70 interchangability with S70 parts (same year)

Post by SonicAdventure »

If I found a non-turbo 1998 S70, would all the drivetrain components be interchangeable with my V70?

I assume all front seat interior parts (dashboard, console and seats) would be interchangeable, but what about the door skins, door panels and any rear seat components?

There is a nice 1998 S70 in my area I'd like to snag it up as a parts car, but I don't want to end up with a lot of unusable parts.

Everything mechanical is the same.

Everything cosmetic is the same except the rear set backs and rear seat bottoms. And any obvious differences like the trunk lid. Everything from the front seats forward (including the front seats) is identical.

one exception would be driveshafts between turbo and non turbo I believe. Also, the rear shocks and calipers for a Cross County would not be applicable. Otherwise, you are good for everything else. The 850 and v/s 70 are all interchangeable too mechanically.

Oh that's right, there are several little differences if you start talking turbo vs non-turbo, XC vs others. Good point. OP was asking about a 98 V70 base and a non-turbo S70.
