I am going to replace my parking brake shoes - Bosch or Genuine Volvo?
Either better for any reason?

This was discussed just the other day, see this thread for comments on brands:

As I see it, the only reason to get genuine Volvo in this case is if you don't care at all about the price and just want to be sure to get a set that fits. Many people have had problems with the aftermarket shoes being too big, presumably that would be a non-issue with the blue box part.

Great! Thanks! I'll check that out. I should have done a search first.
Thank you!

It really doesn't matter.Either brand will end up with detaching friction material from a metal in about 3 years.
Had Oem,Lucas,Delphi.....all of them ended up in the same way.The funniest thing is that they are used just for parking.Friction material was brand new on all of them.Just felt appart.

IMO it is because moisture gets trapped between the shoe material and the metal it is riveted to. This produces rust blisters that that swell and stress the rivets holding the shoe material to the back plate and eventually the rivet fails. Either that or the cable starts to bind and overheats the shoes and they fail.
