Pushing the on button and the "code" comes on. The preset buttons will not function so it is impossible to enter the code. Can I deactivate the anti- theft system? If so How? Thanks

If it says CODE (not OFF) and it doesn't work, it's probably broken
You may want to try a hard reset, (remove the battery cables and hold them together for a minute or so)

Check for stuck buttons on the radio.
If one gets stuck, none will work.

I would like to know if there is a way to deactivate the anti-theft (maybe just disconnecting a couple of wires) system and if the radio would work without it? It was a great radio and sound system until the code (reset buttons) quit working.

No.
You'll have to find the problem
and fix it or replace the radio.
