Hello friends, I'm curious if anyone has had any success using the Nissens brand radiator from FCP, or the Cyromax listed over at IPD? I'm leaning towards an OEM replacement as I dont really want to mess with barbed fittings etc, however both of those Aftermarket radiators look to be OEM in appearance. So here I am asking for advice.
Planning on replacing the Lower and upper radiator hoses along with the two turbo coolant hoses. But oh dear does the one near the turbo look daunting. Rspi's video is great, but I seem to have some sort of plate akin to a subframe bracket blocking access further. Had a gander at it when i replaced my Oxygen sensors and if I didn't care about the vehicle I'd forget about it.

I had just put a Nissens in mine before it burnt a valve and is now my parts car. My pretty new radiator will not work in my '99 as it is in my not running '98 V70T5. Slightly used but very slightly. It was a little trouble to change out. The second one wold not be a problem. I have just replaced the one in my 2006 V70 and that was a PITA. Nothing like the '98 change.
If you need a good radiator on the less expensive side and almost new, let me know if I can help.

If you are close, as I see you are in the United States, then you can come and remove it for practice.

The hose has 1 o-ring, and there's 1 seal in each fitting of the radiator.
Heck, my '96 is a parts car and has a Nissens in great condition. I'm in NE CT

Nissens in my 1999, but manual do I've not had to deal with oil cooler fittings. No problems in 30000 miles

Appreciate the replies. I'm on the other side of the country in Oregon. So I will unfortunately be unable to come remove your radiator for you.
I'm jealous of the stickshift abscate.
I'm queueing up an order for later today.
1x Nissen Radiator
Upper/Lower Radiator Hose OEM
Turbo Supply/Return Hoses OEM
Both expansion tank hoses along with a new expansion tank (mine has a couple hairline cracks forming on top.)
4 o-rings and 4 new snap ring clamps.
Volvo blue coolant.
Am I forgetting anything?

Both!
Although I don't have any children so the Miss and I only require the front seats. my dodge pick up can handle any cargo loads we require. I am in love with the 850/70 body style on the sedans but i think a tiny bit is lost in the wagons. Find me a gorgeous sedan with a stick would ya?

Thermostat & gasket?
You need the seal that fits into the radiator fitting

I use zip-ties around the cooling hose clamps instead of worm-type hose clamps like in this kit
