I was looking through this forum to get me a clear picture on how to perform the PCV system service for my V70. The links I found for the process are very good and meticulous. What I am not clear, is as what parts to get before starting the job? Somewhere I read I would only need to get the oil trap beforehand, but on other places the suggestion was to get the kit from a place like FCP. So what is the best to be prepared for this job?
Thanks a lot.

You will need an intake manifold gasket, the hoses from the Breather Box to the block (x2), probably the hoses in the foam wrap, a clean breather box, probably the hose to the cam cover, and clamps. and an o-ring for the dipstick tube. The manifold gasket and o-ring are have to haves, the others will most likely be needed. Also see the CN90's thread about 5/8" hose for high mileage engines.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

It might be best to first remove everything and get a good idea of what you need and don't need. For example, my breather box was able to be re-used, but I was missing major hoses. (and stuck with a 50$ breather box I did not need) Pull manifold and take a look at what you really need, otherwise youll be buying a lot of stuff and will have things left over. the NA is much easier. You might get away with not doing the full PCV if you fix the vacumme elbow on the left side of intake if that's what has ruined your negative pressure.
