2001 s80 alternator started smoking

Hello Folks

Went to pickup s80 from friend and alternator started smoking, I'm planning to change alternator but need to get to my garage 5 minutes across town, think it might make it?

Should I spray alternator with some electronic cleaner ????

Hi JR
I would take off the serpentine belt, put on a new battery and even take another batter with me as back up and drive it like that, you don't want that alternator screwing up and spiking up the voltage in your system which then will burn out everything on its path

Got a cheap tow! And replace alternator.

Any idea how to reset check engine lights?
