I'd start my removing the glovebox. It's just behind the glovebbox.

Removing the glovebox on my 1988 760 Turbo was about a 10 minute job. After removing the blower motor I found it to be the same as used on many GM cars such as Chevy Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire.
