2004 S60 Where to buy ignition cylinder

The ignition key on my 2004 S60 key won't turn past postion 1.
Quite a few threads suggest that the only permanent fix is to replace the ignition cylinder.
This is the part I want and that trustworthy Fcpeuro used to sell "Volvo Ignition Lock Cylinder (S60 S80 XC90) - Genuine Volvo 8626375." With the correct VIN number it will be pre-coded to the car, just use your old keys.
I found a place that sells "ignition tumbler with keys." I'm not sure if it is the same thing as the pictures look different. And with the keys being supplied, it means that my old keys won't work.
I'm in Australia if that makes a difference.

I'd contact FCP and see if they can point you in the right direction of a supplier.

I took your advice and contacted Max Rossi at Fcpeuro. According to him, this item is no longer available from any Fcpeuro's suppliers.
I believe lock cylinders do fail up to 2008 models. So, where do people buy this? Is this a dealer only item?
The ignition tumbler, by the way, is still available but it is only a part of the lock cylinders, and takes a fair bit of hack work to install.

I don't know if i can be of much help.
My understanding is that the the key itself (in the black rubber head) contains the chip for the immobiliser, whilst the remote fob is coded to the rear mirror.

That would mean that whilst a new ignition lock could be installed i would have thought that you would need to use your existing keys as it contains the "chip" which the immobiliser needs.
I'll have a look through VIDA and see if that sheds any more light on this.

I'm sure there must be a member on MVS that has more insight into this.
