My wife made me do a "refresh" on some of the painted parts when I first got the car. The clear coat didn't handle the sun to well. It should be good underneath.
I can make you a good deal on a pretty good bumper. Again with a clear coat with a bad sun burn.
I am making some good deals, as The Misses wants it out of the back yard.
Electric passenger seat, have some seat pads with electric heaters in them, and have the buttons also.
Sounds like you spliced some wires, If I have anything that would help, tell me what. I am pulling stuff this weekend in prep for removal of car very soon.
Sounds like you have done a lot to yours.

This is the picture with the hood after being sanded a little bit. We got both pieces sanded down and primed Monday. I think it's going to need another sanding because there is a little bit of pitting. Not bad at all, though.

Don't know why none of the others will show up. They show on my computer just fine.
I'll get back to you on that bumper, though. Don't think mine is going to flow very well with the rest of the car in its current state.

except for a little curb rash on the bottom, the bumper is is good shape.

That's odd. They're linked to Google Photos. Don't know why they won't show up. Here's a comparison picture from day 1 to now. If this doesn't show up, it's the forum's problem. I wish I could upload pictures rather than link them. Seems Bimmerfest is the only one that likes to let me do that.

Neeeevermind... figured it out.
These pictures were after I ran some clay over the good paint and put on some Ice spray wax. I have a bottle of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax on the way, too. I've heard VERY good things about it.
I'll add in a few pictures of the engine bay and the work as well. Sorry they're kind of scattered.

Does anyone know what this plug is for? It is red, and there is one on each side, connected to the same wire going to the headlights. Is it for headlight wipers or fog lights?

Everything is looking great. You have done a lot in a short time. Do you have wires under the passenger seat? We could work on electric/heated seats. Think about it. This weekend is pulling the rest of the part and getting ready to remove from the house.

It's been a few days, and I haven't done a whole lot. I got the scan tool Monday, and I didn't realize serial and VGA are different, so I have an adapter on the way so I can use the cable through USB. And it's taking its time to get here! I'd rather get the transmission sorted out before I go painting everything. Though, I would like to get that spray paint off the driver's side with some compound.
I did polish the driver side fender to test out the Meguiar's Ultimate Polish on a black car, like it suggests, and it came out nicely. I finished it off with Collinite 845 Insulator Wax, and it is the BEST wax I've every used! It goes on easily and is VERY easy to remove, as well! It's supposed to last a long time, too. The paint looks amazing!
I also wrapped some of the trim in vinyl, but I took off some of it, because it didn't come out too well. The two parts I wanted done the most look alright. I need to work out some wrinkles on the center stack, but it's really not that bad. I just couldn't stand the gray plastic. I'd love wood grain, but there's no way I'm paying $40 for all of it from pull a part. I also don't want to go through everything to get the console and center stack trim out. Whole lot of work...
Anyway... if that adapter comes this weekend, I might be able to get her on the road for the first time. I can't wait!
