door contact switch for interior lights

I know this topic is super old but for me, it's super relevant. I discovered my car is no longer acknowledging that my doors are all closed now and I suspect a failed door latch switch is the culprit.

My first question is if there is a guide or write up with some pics/instructions on pulling the door apart and replacing the latch or repairing it?

Also, is there not a fuse that can be pulled to make the chime stop and lights not come on at all so that I can actually drive the car around without all that and without the battery dying? There has to be something like that for a temporary fix just to be able to get around town at night.

Make sure you test your interior lighting at night. I kept on trying to figure out why my Volvo interior lighting wasn't coming on when I opened the door or unlocked it remotely. I tried every switch and was only able to turn the lights on manually. It turns our that when it got dark outside everything worked great. I am so use to the cars where your lights go on at anytime. There must be a sensor that conserves power until it is dark.
