First off thanks for your response and confirmation that the factory rods/everything should be okay w/factory T5 tune. As far as the AWD I should be good right?erikv11 wrote:For your 98 you can just get white injectors, a 15g or A 16t, and a 98 T5 ECU. Easy drop it in and away you go, zero issues for the rods and internals as long as you keep the standard T5 tune.
You will want to pay attention to emissions differences between the two cars to avoid a CEL.

You're right - nothing goes there, at least not since the '94 models. And even then, I've never seen anything there.1ezliving4ume wrote:Ok, I've determined that the mickey mouse hole is nothing, if I'm wrong please someone say so.

Don't worry about an o-ring in an oil pan. I left a flashlight in an oil pan once. Found it three years later. I swear it added the power of 2 D cells to the engine.

Your a funny man! but I feel I should at least try to get it out and I will. On a good note my turbo is ready for pick up from the re-balance shop so I should beable to get alot done in the coming days.
One thing I am still trying to find is the banjo bolt washers for the oil and cooling line that go to the turbo.
If all of this works out I may end up keeping this car and start to mod. it a little it seems like there are numerous mod.'s I can do. I tell you some days I wonder if I will ever get this thing back together. I suppose that's a pretty common thought when your in the dog days of the project. Not disassembling or really assembling, just gathering parts and information.
I did manage to install the exhaust manifold to the head and the t-stat housing to the head last night. so that's a little forward progress.

So, I got my turbo back from the balancing shop. They recommend opening up the Compressor Bypass Valve. Glad I did, it was toast. the rubber was sucked in. Now I have to figure out if I want to rebuild it or go with a different style. I wish the reviews were better for the IPD blank off plate and remote Compressor Bypass Valve. I'll probably just get the heavy duty one on IPD's web page.

Will this work with the blue spring or is it a waste of money

Why don't you just clean it up, replace whatever is necessary and see what happens since it's cheap enough/easy enough to just go back to swap it out if your not happy w/rebuilt CBV.1ezliving4ume wrote:So, I got my turbo back from the balancing shop.
