1985 245 DL Turn Signal and Hazards Occasionally Fail

Post by coreyjro »

About a week ago as I was making a left hand turn I heard a louder than normal click, almost a crunch, when my wheel returned to center. Ever since then my turn signal and hazard lights have been sporadically failing. When they are working the rhythm of the turn signal isn't right either.

I'd appreciate any help pointing me in the correct direction.

How to replace the indicator/wiper stalks on Volvo 240 and 260

240 steering wheel removal q

If your steering shaft bearings are shot, then "Houston, we have a problem."

Hazard lights are activated via button on console...I suppose if turn signal mechanism was messed up, other stuff could happen.

So, in essence, examine turn-signal mechanism for damage. I have no idea if steering wheel has to be taken off.
