1995 850 - replacement throttle plate

Hi.
I'm very interested to replace the 850 throttle plate with the plastic wedge with a standard plate. A 960 throttle body plate is a straight swap but a bit difficult to come by here.
Can anyone tell me the exact diameter of the throttle plate I'm to look for as I may be able to adapt something else. I have a number of electronic throttle bodies lying around from other cars.

OP not sure what you are asking? The 960 throttle plate is a direct swap into a non-turbo throttle body. The plate is the same size as the one in the NA throttle body it is going into. Except that the 960 one has no plastic wedge on it. So just measure the one you have.

Maybe it is just the hassle of measuring something that is already installed in your car? OK I hear ya on that. I have an extra NA throttle body, I could measure the diameter when I get home.

Hi Erikv11.

you hit the nail on the head. The cars been driven daily so its not easy to take apart for measuring and then restoring to drive again, wait for the part, and do it all again. Plus with the plastic wedge in place I might not get the correct measurement.
So I hoped someone might be helpful with the correct diamter plate I need so I can have one ready to go in when I take it apart.

Sure, glad to help.

I did not remove the throttle plate but with digital calipers the opening on the NA throttle body measured at 64.83 mm diameter. If you search around a bit you will see people refer to the 960 plate as a 65 mm plate. So that's your magic number, maybe you have a properly sized one laying around.
