I'm needing to remove just the glass from the passenger side mirror on a 2003 V70. Apologize if this has been in a prior post but I haven't been able to find it and these appear to be different than earlier V70 mirrors.
The glass itself will wobble around as it doesn't appear to be fully connected to the motor. The motor appears to be working fine. Wanting to see why it will not connect to the motor properly. Am I likely to need to replace the entire motor unit? The dealer has told me I do. If I need to replace the motor unit, I want to make sure I don't break the glass removing it so I can reuse it. Also, I'm unclear if on the passenger side motor I would need to use the memory or non-memory unit. I don't know if my memory works on that side or not. Can I just use the non-memory one regardless as it is much less expensive? I'm not concerned if the memory works as there is only one driver of the car and I'd like for them to be able to adjust and use the mirror. Thanks!

Maybe this helps. Perhaps a knife is safer so not to crack the glass
