94 850 turbo wagon - Need a scrapped gas cap cover

Post by Turbolena »

So, I panicked . I was low on gas, and the gas cap cover was stuck. Kids in the car screaming, so I yanked the thing off. I am looking to replace it, preferable in the nice dark forest green. I would just put it back on but I can't figure out how so as the hinge seems to be missing a couple pins now and some of the little black grommets.
The junk yards here in Minnesota are lacking any appropriate volvos for parts.

Note to self....more patience.

Usually the black plastic protrusion snaps off when you do this, and even Volvo sells that cheap.

Thanks for replies, I think I will go with the new hinge...and be without the locking piece until I find time to spot weld it back on .
