1992 240 Just Above A quarter Tank

My daughter's 240 sputters and dies when it gets down to just over a quarter of a tank of gas. Seems to me I've seen other posts with a remedy to this problem. No other problems or symptoms until the tank empties to this level. Any suggestions?

It's related to the in-tank fuel pump. Does it get worse in hot weather?

It was warm when it happened a few days ago. She filled the tank today and the car ran fine. It was 83 degree here today.

Maybe suggest that she keep the tank filled to at least half a tank.

That was my suggestion. And I will replace the in-tank fuel pump. Thank you.
